Today was a slow day, we sat around and watched the storms come (DH didn't have to go to work till tonight), had a tornado watch and something weird was going on because during the worst of it we lost cell phone service??
Anyway I did this still life today. I will put on pictures of the animals too. They lay together like the lion and the lamb, or like the kittens and the bichon, hopefully the kittens will stay around the house if I teach the dogs not to chase them.
Back to the still life, aceo on acid free paper, colored pencil, hand drawn, I had a photo for reference but the painting isn't exactly like the photo. I have a job interview tomorrow, have 40 hours of college have managed a half million$+ company for years and I'm going to work @ Wally World?? Unless my ebay things pick up, last fall I was selling enough to justify staying @ home but not now. Wally World has insurance and nice people. I have other job openings to see about but will probably get hired @ Wal Mart first?? Not sure how I feel about it but I know they will have business for awhile?
Anyway go to ebay to see my items and the other artists. My items can be found HERE.
The tomato still life won't be on till later tonight. The kittens were wild orphans, I found them the dogs had them treed one by one, it was like here I am take care of me, they are maybe 4 weeks old?
The calla lily picture is back on ebay, hasn't met the reserve so feel free to bid.

Abstract Imperessionism Aceo Painting Peony by Tresa

Hi, it’s a beautiful Sunday here in MO, I started to mow and then decided husband would get hungry so I fixed meat loaf with green peppers, onions, and ketchup, was GOOD with homemade potato salad.

So husband decided to take a nap and I didn’t want to wake him up mowing (sounds like a good excuse, huh?) so I did an aceo (small painting, 2.5 inches by 3.5, colored pencil on acid free paper), a flower from my imagination, I was thinking rose but it turned into a peony, probably because they are blooming here.

You can see it on ebay HERE.

It has quite a few layers actually looks more like an oil than a colored pencil in a way, I blend, burnish and push till every little pore of the paper is filled in and then the layers start. This particular aceo is heavily layered. The colors I used are all prismacolor and if anyone is interested are:

White

Process Red

Spanish Orange

Rosy Beige

Deco Pink

Spring Green

Marine Green

Pink Rose

Black Cherry

Raspberry

I did this iris today, I did the same iris different view before, colors were similar but that's about it.
It's an aceo, 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, colored pencil on acid free paper. It's on ebay here!

And the kittens are growing and have taken over the dog bed.

Hi, I just relisted my calla lilies, was I supposed to say that, they start @ .99 now that's 99 cents, can't beat that with a stick can you? I did this calla lily aceo a couple days ago, here it is on ebay calla lily aceo
So I have a cap gun listed and some old life magazines too. I'm putting on some books on lyme, animals, office control, and societies collapse on ebay this afternoon.
I also did this landscape of an old road in an aceo too.
Old road aceo
Both of these are colored pencil on acid free paper, acid free paper is supposed to last for 100s of years if kept away from temperature extremes and since the colored pencils I use are wax it's actually like getting an encaustic painting on paper. Aceos for those who don't know are 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

Well I have turned over a new leaf, I'm finishing painting, going to bed @ a decent hour and updating my blog.....Ok I'm updating my blog.
Here's Work in Progress pictures on My Calla's on sale on ebay right now CLICK HERE TO GO TO MY PAINTINGS on ebay!! I'm now selling under countryjunque instead of lizhottinroof, makes my life simpler to have one ebay id going instead of two id's and two browsers.
The calla lily painting is 12x12 inches, acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas.
I will REALLY try to update this much much more often.
Ok, I uploaded the pictures and what I see is backwards, it's too late @ night to change it if I'm going to keep on going to bed early. You get the general idea, I painted it, the shadows were really hard on this because white shadows have so many colors in them. Thanks for looking and hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with more art for you to peruse.
