I'm BAAAACK!!

Sorry I was gone from my daily blog for so long. I wouldn't say I burned out or had a crisis, just one thing and another got in the way and I prefer to keep my art as a happy activity and not WORK so I probably won't be trying any more daily pictures unless they just happen. My muse is starting to come back I think, I'm seeing things and saying I have to get that down, like the shape of the bare winter branches of the oak tree out the dining room window, there is nothing beyond but snow and fog and that is echoed inside in the billowy sheer white drapes with the abstract ugly twisted beauty of the branches in the middle. And that's just when I wake up and stumble through the house before that all important first cup of coffee.

Here ARE two pictures I painted from photo's I had permission to use on weatherunderground. The lighthouse is 4x4 and the fence is aceo size, 2.5inches by 3.5 inches. They are both oil on gessoed rag illustration board or matboard. The fence painting is thick which you can readily see in the photos. Both were done alla prima in one sitting although obviously not on location.

AFTER (maybe during) I have a commission to finish and then maybe you will see some more of my art and see it on ebay. I'm going back to colored pencil some, I love doing it and who cares if it doesn't bring the high prices oils do, I love the precision.

Daily Painting Gladiolas- Impressionistic

I'm REALLY glad this wasn't any bigger, it took me most of the day, or rather the afternoon. My view of how glads look. I used to sit in the lawn swing with my cousin @ her grandmas house, my great aunt and we had gladiolas all around. They also had a BIG front porch, and down below where they used to live you had to cross a walk bridge across the creek to get to the house which was a log cabin, there was an artesian spring running through the kitchen sink @ all times and another log cabin with the quilting frames in it. It was rather magic but we were too young to know that kind of life was soon disappearing. This is 4.5 inches by 7.5 on rag illustration board, done in colored pencils, I think I'll go back to oil for a bit, much less WORK. This is for sale until Sunday, 9/30 on eBay, click here to go to it.

Thanks for looking, leave comments if you wish, part of my daily painting series, did this the afternoon of September 27, 2007.

My Bichon Frise Aceo Colored Pencil

This is my dog, he's a male, has NO idea he's not and we will keep it that way. He's a bichon frise, bought him as a poodle but turned out to be a bichon? Which is FINE with me, Bichons can be more stubborn and are horrible people dogs, they want to be with someone @ all times but they are extremely smart. I got him to take his last heartworm pill by pleading with him. I don't know if that is smart of spoiled? And if you ever hear a bichon "talk" they can sound like a baby whining or crying, it's quite embarrassing when I try to leave him in the car, with the doors locked of course and sometimes the ac running!! This is a colored pencil aceo 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches and is for sale on ebay HERE. I did this aceo last night the 25th of September, 2007.

Aceo Watercolor Katrina Baby

This is an aceo 2.5 inces by 3.5 inches of the same horse as below done in watercolor, watercolor pencil and colored pencil, on arches, it's also for sale till Saturday, 9/29, HERE.

Katrina Baby Oil

This is my colt foal painting, you can read the story below. 9 in x 12 in, painted area is a little smaller, oil on canvas. I love these little horses and went back and saw them last spring, they had GROWN!! You can purchase this painting till Saturday September 29, HERE.

This is a Katrina baby, we lived on a horse farm in MS for 8 months last year while we were cleaning up after Katrina. The mares on this farm (morgans) escaped during the hurricane, I can't remember whether they came home of their own free will or not but they were all pregnant. Last July I believe we started having Katrina babies around there. This is one. They were the gentlest things, my bichon thought he was protecting me and ran up to a mama and baby and was dancing all around, baby was laying on the ground and I thought oh no, here goes the dog, mama's going to kick him to death. She sniffed @ him, that was it. We had satellite internet and they would rub up against the dish and knock it out of kilter, then they would think everytime they did it I would feed them! The mama's would even stick their head in the door of the camper if I left it open.

9 x 12 oil on canvas, it's not on ebay yet but will be tomorrow the 25th. Click here to see all my eBay items. Oh yes, I used oil pencils on it too but only one paint brush, not a gimmick I just use too many paint brushes so confined myself to ONE today.

This is my true artwork today, I trimmed my dog. This is the best job I've done by far, he may look ragged to you but he is MUCH better than he was and SO cute. I'll try to get a better picture in the daylight, he has developed not looking @ the flash into a permanent habit.

The tulip was done AFTER I trimmed and brushed and trimmed again, and then bathed the dog. It's prismacolor colored pencil on stonehenge acid free paper. Size is 3x5. I don't have it on ebay yet but do a search for Tresa to view all my art anytime.

Still LIfe with Grapes in Oil

This is an oil 8x10 on canvas board and the detail
I didn't feel very well last night and today so I will just put this on here, it will be available on ebay by noon tomorrow. The picture to the side is the detail. Sorry they aren't clearer, it's a miracle I got these. This one will probably have to be varnished by whoever buys it if it's soon, basically a 2 sitting deal and the paint is still wet.

Six Tulips

This started out to be a watercolor believe it or not. It still is a watercolor underneath. When it was a watercolor the background was purple and blue, I layered cold dark grey, dark green, and black cherry over the background and then burnished with a tissue. It's done on arches 140 lb paper I believe, hot pressed. The size is almost 6.5 x 4 inches. This is on ebay till Sunday, here's the link.
Thank you for looking. I hope to have another on tonight or in the morning.

Rose # 34

This is a rose aceo, done on Stonehenge paper, the size is 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. It's on eBay right now and goes off September 23rd. Here's the link.

I love this rose, as I seem to love most roses, I have dried ones, roses on plates, roses on the wall, etc. etc. My husband tries to get me to grow them and I have had some luck but since we are not home all the time it's difficult. I did notice the bushes did survive in the circle garden. I am nuts, I made a circle garden that is like 100 ft. across with a fountain in the middle!!!
Must get busy again but I REALLY like this rose.

Two more on ebay

This is the second aceo, it goes off of ebay September 22 and the link is here.

This was done on black mi tientes which makes it a little rougher looking as this is pastel paper.

I didn't do a blog entry yesterday because the day got away, my husband came home and brought company but I hope to put several paintings on today, paint some, AND clean a bedroom, it's already noon or a little past I had better get busy!!

Oh yes, this picture was titled vintage prom dress, it reminds me of the woodwork in my grandmothers home, there were 3 girls, my mother and two aunts and they had all left home naturally by the time I came around but their leftover frillies were still in the giant walk in closet downstairs in the front bedroom. Old Missouri farmhouse.

Two more on ebay

This is an Aceo 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, small affordable Art. It is currently for sale on ebay @ this link.
It shows two girls on the beach, could be anytime any place, it's done on stonhenge paper, a quality acid free paper that is archival and prismacolor colored pencils.
It is for sale today and goes off the 24th of September.

Well I finally did it and paintings for today!!

Hello, I am Teresa Hartsock and this is my blog. It's 3 am so this will be short, these are the two aceo's I did last night. They are for sale on ebay under lizhottinroof. Enjoy.

The first is obviously three pears, I thought it looked sort of Picassoish?? New word, all mine.

This is an aceo 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, done with colored pencil on black mi tientes paper.

The next are tiny white flowers, it's hard to get the glow properly on black mi tientes but I tried, they turned out rather well. They are also in aceo form and for sale tomorrow on ebay, did I say today?
